अभिनयाची तंत्रे

काल अनिकेत विश्वासराव ह्याची विक्रम गोखले ह्यांनी घेतलेली मुलाखत¹ कुतूहल म्हणून पाहिली. विक्रम गोखले ह्यांना मुलाखत देताना  अनिकेतवर दबाव आलेला दिसत होता. आपले वडील श्री. शेखर विश्वासराव ह्यांची पार्श्वभूमी अनिकेतने सांगणे अपेक्षित होते; ती तशी त्याने सांगितली. श्री. शेखर विश्वासराव ह्यांनी दिग्दर्शित केलेल्या दोन नाटुकल्यांमध्ये काम करण्याची संधी मला शालेय जीवनात मिळालेली आहे. तालमीच्या वेळी शिस्त पाळण्याविषयी त्यांचा कटाक्ष असे.

विक्रम गोखले ह्यांनी चरित्रकार म्हणून विशेष प्रसिद्ध असलेल्या रोनाल्ड हेमन² ह्या ब्रिटिश नाटककार आणि समी़क्षकाच्या एका पुस्तकाचा उल्लेख केला. 'टेकनिक्स अव अॅक्टिंग' हे त्याचे नाव. रोनाल्ड हेमनने लिहिलेली चरित्रे मी वाचलेली नाहीत पण त्याने केलेले समीक्षात्मक लेखन वाचलेले आहे. त्यामुळे रोनाल्ड हेमन हे नाव ऐकल्यावर मी कान टवकारले. 'हाउ टू रीड अ प्ले' असेही त्याचे एक गाजलेले पुस्तक आहे.

अभिनयाची तंत्रे शिकण्यासाठी तशी स्तानिस्लावस्कीची³ चार पुस्तके आहेत. पण  पुस्तके वाचून अभिनय थोडाच शिकता येतो?

Stanislavsky प्रणाली⁴ म्हणजे काय हे थोडक्यात जाणून घेण्यासाठी हे संकेतस्थळ पाहावे. `अभिनय’ ह्या विषयावरील मराठी विश्वकोशातील नोंदही⁵ लक्षणीय आहे.

VOW is Video On Wheels.

They are also used as a cable or satellite TV on a large 100 to 300'' screen with ultra modern audio equipment.

VOW travels from village to village with a programme announced a day in advance creating a media event and getting coverage in local press - a double exposure with multiplier effect.

According to a research, on an average, VOW covers 1.5 lakh viewers a month. It operates on a generator where electricity is scarce.

1980 elections witnessed the incarnation of video vans, alias video raths. Devi Lal is said to be the first politician to use VOW for campaigning in Haryana. Since then it every political party, especially, the BJP, has exensively used VOW.

VOW is the brainchild of Dr. Jain of Jain satellite TV. After the elections, the video vans were rented out by Dr. Jain's company to various companies for marketing their products.

Companies like Hindustan Lever, Brooke Bond, ITC, Proctor & Gamble, L&T, Godrej and Pepsi have successfully used the medium to promote their products. VOW offers advertisers a complete communication solution that enables them to make inroads into the far flung rural Indian market and includes

• demonstration of product
• promotion
• market research
• retailer motivation
• instant reaction and
• opportunity to sell.

VOW is also being used for educational purposes.

Creativity and AI

Creative people in general crave for getting labled as 'original'. People from the PR agencies, with their red light and green light zones, advertise themselves as being 'creative'. Advances in artificial intelligence, however, demystify these claims and come out with explanations that make the so called creativity and/or originality look quite mundane.

Aside from AI (Artificial Intelligence), the claims to creation can often be reduced to mere off beat. Reciprocating syntax, twisting meaning, tweaking the spelling and inventing grammars are the usual tools of the trade. Many creative punches turn out to be translations of idioms from foreign languages. All this parodying assumes knowledge of context on the part of the 'target'.

Margaret Boden has shown in her book how poems can be minted with the help of a computer, based on a semantic structure.
